Abstract :
The basic features of the direct sequence and frequency hopping types of spread spectrum communication are described in brief, and the antijam features of these systems are highlighted. Developmental efforts for spread spectrum technology during the past decade are described along with more recent spread spectrum developmental efforts at the Space Applications Centre, India. A satellite based SSMA (spread spectrum multiaccess) network design for low data rate communication to provide a jamming margin in the range of 20 to 30 dB is also given
