Abstract
The authors present an overview of the techniques of sinusoidal rectification applied to the input of a variable speed voltage source inverter. The need for sinusoidal, unity power factor loads is an important consideration as more nonlinear loads are applied to the supply network. The incorporation of a line regeneration capability is also a major feature as users consider the energy efficiency of variable speed AC drive installations
