Abstract
The kW range of DC-DC converters have shown the zero voltage switching phase-shift controlled H-bridge converter to have advantages over alternative circuits. Operation of the converter is described in detail for various load and circuit conditions, and illustrated with computer simulation results. A design procedure and discussion of tradeoffs follows. A new, improved, control technique is described which uses a modified switching pattern to improve the ZVS capability and to allow the maximum possible duty cycle
