Major sports events serve as importance resource for the development of sports industry. It is thus undoubtedly significant to develop intangible asset in major sports events in theory and in practice. By referencing literatures and interviewing experts, etc, we have examined the concept of major sports events as well as the scope and value of developing the assets. We have also put forward such countermeasures as establishing special departments to develop intangible assets, constructing cooperative mechanism with media and enhancing institutional construction concerning intangible asset, so as to provide reference for market operation of major sports events.
