Abstract
An iterative feedback tuning (IFT) technology is introduced into the freeway traffic on-ramp metering via ALINEA control, which can eliminate the blindness in selecting proper control gain for ALINEA method. As a result, the control gain of ALINEA controller can be tuned iteratively in terms of the presented optimal condition. The presented method is model-free in nature, and just depends on the real-time I/O data. The simulation results further illustrate the availabilities of the presented method.
