Abstract
The author examines the global office, its structure, how people will work in it, the work they will do and the demands they will place on communications technology. A number of contrasting work scenarios are described and analysed to determine the telecommunications and computing facilities needed to meet their requirements. Many of the facilities are available, but what is lacking is their integration into a coherent system that presents a uniform user interface for both data communications and data processing
