Abstract
Advanced conformal antennas will be used in greater numbers in the future because they are unobtrusive and provide excellent performance. The acceptance of conformal antennas has been hindered, however, by their perceived high cost and the lack of advanced design tools. This paper will review conformal antenna architectures, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using conformal antennas, and place heavy emphasis on the various approaches to modeling performance
