Abstract :
In this paper, modes and distribution of electromagnetic field existing in a coaxial multimode horn with two chokes are discussed and their directional pattern expressions are given. Experimental results for this multimode horn agree with the design value at C-band. It is shown that the feed has not only a main lobe which is symmetrical with respect to rotation, but also a uniform phase centre of the E-plane and H-plane, low cross polarization and VSWR which is less than 1.4
