Validation tests and applications of a model for demand-side management studies in residential load areas

The aim of the paper is to illustrate a computer program which permits to simulate both single family and large-area daily load profiles, starting from the electric energy end uses. The paper describes also the method adopted and the results of the comparison between the model simulations and some load recordings. Finally the application of a set of load control policies is simulated by means of the described model. As regards the assessment of the most effective control policy, new methods are illustrated to perform a more adequate economic and financial evaluation of the above mentioned measures
