  • Abstract
In 1989, VEW-Vereinigte Elektrizitatswerke Westfalen AG-employed a modern, future-oriented telemetering system of type DATAGYR20, provided by Messrs Landis & Gyr for determining the load curves on the 110 kV networks of its four regional management divisions, to provide in-plant measurement in connection with internal billing transactions. The telemetering system comprises four central computers together with transmitting meters and encoders, which are installed at appropriate measuring points. The metering values are transmitted to the central computer via a VEW owned communication network. Here the authors describe how after a 2 year operating period, the system has proved an outstanding success in terms of reliability, including transmission reliability, and the recording of results in report and graph form
