16 years of fault statistics in the Dutch LV, MV and HV distribution networks; results and progress

Nonavailability of distribution networks due to fault is strongly related to the quality of electricity supply to consumers. The author provides an overview of the period 1976 up to and including 1991. Regarding LV and MV the survey relates to about two thirds of the total number of consumers in the Netherlands, while the HV survey applies to the whole of the country. The survey method has developed over the years from forms being filled out on the spot all the way to automated performance by way of a computer program called NESTOR
