Welcome message from the workshop co-chairs

The workshop on Managing Federations and Cooperative Management is a new forum which aims to bring together researchers from a broad array of application and technical areas who are concerned with cross-domain management. We hope that it will become an important venue for highlighting common themes, problems and solutions that touch upon the problems of managing information systems that cut across autonomous domains in the wide range of research fields and problem areas where such matters have been addressed. It aims to provide the basis for a common understanding and common approaches to inter-domain management and governance that synthesise the insights and solutions being developed in the diverse areas in which these problems are encountered.
