Abstract
In this paper we are investigating the performance of a 802.11a compliant MAC protocol used in MIMAX (Mimo for Maximum reliability and performance) system. The protocol is developed in SDL (Specification and Description Language) and evaluated on a hardware platform. The evaluation results are later used to commit hardware/software partitioning of the protocol. The paper also describes testing setup used to investigate performance of the complete MIMAX system. It gives the measurement results and comparison to traditional 802.11a SISO implementation.
