  • Abstract
    The time-averaging equivalent circuit model of the full-bridge parallel resonant converter operating in the discontinuous-conduction mode is set forth. This model is used to design a phase-lead controller for the converter which ensures good response, internal and overall system stability, and robustness to modeling uncertainties for all possible operating conditions. Computer simulation and experimental results of a 100 W, 500 kHz converter indicate that the controlled converter shows improvements over the open-loop system in terms of good transient response and good disturbance rejection to input voltage and output load variations.<>
