Abstract :
Approximate electrodynamic theory of a spherical radome of an antenna is suggested, when inside of it close to its center is placed a dipole. Calculating formula of the power radiated in far zone is received. Conditions, at which this power reaches its maximal value, are considered. For the width of the dielectric layer of the radome these conditions give transcendental equation, which may be solved by graphical method for fixed values of the wavelength and dielectric permittivity of the spherical layer of the radome. Examples of calculation of geometric dimensions of the radome are presented.
