Abstract
We propose a novel technique of detection of ultrashort and few-cycle light pulses with a plasmonic nanocavity that is based on the extremely-slow-energy-velocity mode of the insulator-insulator-metal waveguide. We characterize the cavity analytically and demonstrate how it works using the FDTD method.
