Abstract
Wireless monitoring systems are increasingly being used in structural health monitoring for its benefits of good economy and ease of maintenance. However, the energy limited of wireless sensor nodes is a major problem for wireless monitoring systems. In this paper, a low-power routing protocol is proposed for the wireless bridge health monitoring system, and the protocol has a good effect on extending the network lifetime. Simulation results show that the protocol balances the network energy consumption, and extends the network lifetime by 30% or more compared with Leach and GAF.
