Abstract :
The urban expressway on-ramp connecting traffic operating characteristics are analyzed with gap acceptance theory. This paper compares the traffic flow characteristics between urban expressway and unsignalized intersection. Based on the hypothesis that the headway distribution of traffic is Double-shift negative exponential distribution and the unsignalized intersection slip capacity model, the expressway capacity model of urban expressway on-ramp junction is established to provide a theoretical basis for the planning, design, and management of urban expressway.
