Abstract :
This paper presents steady-state behavior of an interior type PMSM in variable speed drive application. Expansion of operating limits for a PMSM drive by optimum flux weakening is suggested. Effect of motor parameters on the voltage limit constraint and power capability is also studied. Simulation results are confirmed by an experimental one on a 1 HP laboratory DSP based drive system
