Abstract
The world´s largest adjustable speed synchronous motor drive system is now operational at NASA´s National Transonic Facility (wind tunnel). The successful activation of this newly installed system was achieved through structured factory tests and a comprehensive commissioning plan. Data from the commissioning tests are presented. The tests validate the design, characterize the operational envelope, and demonstrate that performance requirements were met
