Abstract
Bearingless switched reluctance motors have combined characteristics of synchronous motors and magnetic bearings. Radial force production is explained with differential stator windings. Mathematical relations between the motor current and radial force are derived including cross-coupling and fringing fluxes. Theoretical relationships are verified with experimental results at partial overlap position
