Abstract
Examples of 2-D planar components in microwave circuits and systems include resonators, radial stubs, power dividers, hybrids, and various types of microstrip patch antennas. The author reviews modeling and analysis techniques for this class of microwave components. Currently, research is in progress on making 2-D analysis algorithms faster by reducing double summations in Green´s functions and Z -matrix expressions to equivalent single numerical summations. Also, computer-aided design methods are being developed for 2-D circuit components and for integrated antennas
