Abstract :
The characteristics of the novel dual synthetic jets actuator are summarized in this paper. The dual synthetic jets actuator not only resolves the problems of pressure loading and energy inefficiency of the traditional synthetic jet actuators, but also has unique thrust-vectoring characteristic itself by adjusting area ratio of the two exits or volume ratio of the two cavities of the dual synthetic jets actuator. A primary jet vectoring using the dual synthetic jets actuator is numerically simulated, and the results show a single dual synthetic jets actuator can play both “push” and “pull” functions of thrust-vectoring the primary jet, and its efficiency is higher than that of the traditional synthetic jet actuator (SJA), what´s more, the efficiency of its “push” functions is higher than that of “pull” functions.
