Abstract :
This paper is concerned with the problem of preprocessing Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) images. Considering its proprieties, this paper proposes to perform the homomorphic filter on the sonar images, corrupted by speckle. Moreover, robust criteria are defined to evaluate the proposed filtering. The statistic modeling of sonar image is then used to evaluate the contribution of the filtering method in the detection step.
