Abstract
Transmission-line modelling (TLM) is a general time-domain differential numerical simulation technique suitable for solving field problems. Its main application area has been in electromagnetics but it has also been applied to thermal, and combined electromagnetic and thermal problems. The development of TLM into a general discrete transform for solving circuits and equations has also been described. The author emphasises the development and application of TLM as a general field solver
