Abstract
One of the major problems in modern industry is to identify and form a multi-disciplinary team that will work together to a common aim. Nowhere is this more true than in the concept design phase where the team is producing and evaluating ideas to meet the customer needs-a team commitment to the chosen design is fundamental to it´s success in the ensuing activities. The author discusses the problems of multi-disciplinary teams, the techniques employed during total design, structuring creativity, and achieving concept selection through consensus
