Abstract
This work demonstrates a Bragg grating sensor with high sensitivity to refractive index. This device has the potential to detect down to the monolayer resolutions and to see subtle chemical surface effects. Moreover, this study shall discuss the latest development to introduce chemical specificity through functional self assembled monolayer surfaces and the exploration of the chemical interactions at these surfaces.
