    The need for improving the design of secondary distribution substations both to ensure the safety of persons and for the enhancement of of the environment is a serious issue as demonstrated by the previous paper. The author hopes that the UK electricity supply industry will respond positively by using and adapting the new technology equipment available to provide suitable substations
