Abstract
The potential of semi-active multimatrix reflector antennas for mobile and fixed communications is confirmed by investigations on beam scanning by phase-only optimisation at the amplifier input level, and reflector shaping in the interests of smaller hybrid matrices. An application to 20/30 GHz regional VSAT communications is presented, and differences from low-frequency global systems are highlighted in L-band and S-band designs
