  • Abstract
    An agent component-oriented software development process, which emphasizes the design and construction of software systems by using reusable components, is a cost-effective approach to the software development. This paper proposes a new software engineering process approach, which is a structured data object-based, agent component-oriented (SOAC), light-weight and flexible software engineering process. In this paper, an agent structured data object control component has been developed which is extended from the usual data control component of the programming tools, and an agent component model has been built to support the development from modeling to implementation of agent-oriented software. The authors use their novel idea of software process approach to develop the agent component-oriented software in a university information system.
