Abstract
The authors show the power of mathematical morphology as a tool for analysis of grey-level images, and especially texture. Textures are investigated by extracting a local fractal signature for a range of scales. The variation with changing resolution then characterizes the texture. Some results of a practical application of this technique to a brushed leather surface, are presented
