Abstract :
P&B, formed in 1932, have manufactured motor protection relays for almost 50 years. They continue to manufacture electromechanical relays whilst an increasing amount of their production is microprocessor-based. They, like several other protection manufacturers, are going through a quiet revolution as they move from protection only to protection and control disciplines. Here, they offer a view on the various protection alternatives together with their merits, reliability and overall capabilities
