Abstract
One of the most important parts of the design process for distribution systems is the selection of power cable sizes. There are many variables to be taken into account, therefore the result must be somewhat of a compromise. Where several criteria apply to a design process then it could be worth searching for the optimal combination, and this is the purpose of this paper. The distribution systems considered here are those of an LV system end-user, rather than a distributor, of energy. However, the conclusions are generally applicable
