Abstract
The mechanism of zero-current switching in the C3 is investigated. This circuit is operated in zero-current soft-switched fashion with no additional current stress imposed on the circuit components. Moreover, the zero-current switching eliminates the current tailing at turn-off, which is to present in high-power gate turn-off switches. Therefore, higher operating frequencies are practical. Experimental prototype results are included to demonstrate the switching waveforms
