Abstract :
A Tm3+,Ho3+:KY(WO4)2 (Tm,Ho:KYW) laser passively mode-locked by using semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) is demonstrated. The SESAM used for the initiation and stabilisation of passive mode locking incorporated a GaSb/AlAsSb DBR structure having a high reflectivity and InGaAsSb quantum wells as the absorber.
