Abstract :
Development of the city has uncertainty, chaos and other basic characteristics of complex systems and interacts with the natural, social, economic and other factors. Simulating the dynamic evolution of urban development has guiding significance, as we understand the rules and characteristics of urban development and institute planning of urban development. This paper introduces the process of simulating Jinzhou city urban spatial expansion dynamic evolution by geographic information systems and cellular automata to building CA model organically. We study the land use status of the research region based on land use data and economic data and achieve the main direction of urban expansion in the last few years, which can provided a basis for establishing a CA model. Then taking the TM image data in the years of 90, 00 and 07 as the basic and test data to debug, evaluate and test the parameters of the CA model. Finally the model could be predicted on the land use state of the research area in 2015. Shows the process of the evolution of urban spatial systems truly and intuitively, provides for decision support of urban planning.
