Abstract
This paper analyzes a kind of chaotic modulated signal, these phase modulated radar signals are generated by chaotic signals. The ambiguity function of the coded signals is also given. Theory and simulation results show that the ambiguity function of the chaotic modulated signals is approximately “thumbtack-shaped“ for the ideal result. Thus the signal has high resolution both in the time-delay domain and the Doppler frequency domain. It implies the possibility and advantages for chaos to be used in radar signal processing
