In order to reduce the digital divide, many developing countries are trying to put greater use of ICT in their educational structure. However these countries are faced with many constraints due to rigid education policies and lack of physical infrastructure at their disposal. This paper discusses the issues and challenges of implementing ICT in education in developing countries like India and proposes the solution in a digital ecosystem[2]. It tries to showcase about a methodology by which different stakeholders: academics, students and SugarLabs community could collaboratively work towards eliminating this problem.
