Abstract :
Software failure risk, the expected loss resulting from software faults, is a useful measure of software quality that can guide development, maintenance, testing, and operational use of software. The author describes the measurement of software failure risk in a funds transfer system and demonstrates how the external environment and the structure of the software minimize failure risk even when the potential financial exposure is extremely large
