Abstract
In this paper, a parallel structured fuzzy PID controller is firstly introduced. The analysis shows that the equivalent gains of this controller are actually variable with respect to different system states. By comparing with an error-squared nonlinear PID controller, the results show that the performance of the fuzzy PID controller is more robust
