  • Abstract
    This paper presents a comparison between different configurations of MIMO antenna. All proposed metamaterial MIMO antennas are implemented on FR4 substrate and operates at 5.8 GHz. The metamaterial MIMO antennas are designed employing one left handed unit cell with series capacitor and shunt inductor of different configurations. The two elements of MIMO antenna are combined together with small distance between them. The distance between the edges of two elements has been achieved to be only 0.034 λ0. The meta- material MIMO antenna has the advantages of compactness (their size has reduced up to only 2.6 × 2.6 cm2). Not only, the metamaterial MIMO antennas have smaller size than microstrip MIMO antenna, but also they have 45 dB antennas coupling isolation.
