Abstract :
Strategic business and information technology alignment (SBITA) has been linked to enterprise performance improvement. A number of attempts have been made to define the SBITA, several representations on what business and IT alignment are available in academic and practitioners field. This paper provides a framework for SBITA based on a consolidation of related literature. This paper uses the Extended Influence Diagram notation (EID) and a method for knowledge elicitation from scientific texts in order to construct such consolidated SBITA framework. The EID is use as a mean for presenting and comparing theories and models from existing literature and has been expanded for consolidation of such theories and models. The consolidated SBITA framework illustrates key aspects of the most relevant theories and models for Strategic Business and IT Alignment according to the criteria presented in this paper.
