  • Abstract
It is pointed out that accelerating the time to market of new product development has become a critical competitive issue for firms. Achieving fast product introductions is complicated by the firm´s other essential change needs, limited resources, and the chaotic environment. The authors discuss: (1) the critical role of the firm´s chaotic environment; (2) a methodology which integrates new product development with other sources of change; (3) key acceleration requirements which facilitate the rapid integration of all critical change needs; and (4) case study highlights from a successful Fortune 100 firm´s experience. Sixteen acceleration requirements have been identified for accelerating the time to market. A methodology is presented which meets all 16 acceleration requirements, and which has proven highly effective in practice
