  • Abstract
Drug delivery through skin has benefits such as its conveniences of providing controlled dosage to patients. In this article we investigate the effects of electrical characteristics of molecules on their effectiveness in transdermal drug delivery. Using multiphoton microscopy, we imaged the skin treated with fluorescent model drugs having different charges. We will present both the images obtained at different depths and axial fluorescence intensity profiles. Multiphoton microscopy is a useful technique for mechanistic analysis in transdermal drug delivery.
