Abstract
Analysis is made in this technical article of the main aspects and controversies related to the energy supply to the electronic switching exchanges in telecommunications. Two alternatives are characterized of energy systems deemed more recommendable for standardization; besides, some concepts are given which advocate and make an attempt to justify the need of expressive changes (in some cases, radical ones) in the philosophy and other criteria presently adopted, both in the mechanical and electrical design of energy supply equipments and in the characteristics of feeding, that may be required by the telecommunication equipment circuits. These themes are so developed that can also be analyzed by specialists engaged in the design, implantation and maintenance of the telecommunication equipments.
