Abstract
Business process re-engineering (BPR) involves a radical rethinking and replacement of a business´s key processes. This paper illustrates how businesses can implement new product introduction (NPI) processes using concurrent engineering (CE) techniques with a BPR approach, and how the scale of success can be improved compared to more cautious approaches. It contrasts the BPR approach with other improvement techniques, describes the features of BPR, and examines potential areas where BPR can be applied to CE-NPI processes. Measures for establishing how well the approach is succeeding in a particular case are also outlined
