Abstract
Aimed to solve the time-domain convolution in the analysis of transmission line coupling problems, a digital filtering method is proposed to be used in the one-dimensional FDTD computations. Discrete transfer function that represents features of ground impedance is applied to simplify the convolution. Examples demonstrate that the method is effective when the conductivity of the soil is between 10-2S/m and 10-4S/m . Algorithms for the combination of digital filtering with FDTD are presented. This digital filtering method can save both the computation time and reduce the memory cost in calculation
