Abstract
In this paper, modal analysis of a flat PEC strip enables us to choose the best width of radiating slots in a slotted waveguide array antenna. A specific MoM code, which is developed in compatible with theory of characteristic modes (TCMs), is used to attain the modal analysis of the structure. Then, the suitable width of the aforementioned structure is obtained in order to achieve the most efficient resonance. Finally, Babinet´s principle allows us to interchange the strip with a slot of same dimensions. Since the slot´s dimension is optimized, the best radiation of a slotted waveguide array antenna is obtained.
