Abstract :
As one key technology in third generation communication, smart antenna can effectively increase system capacity and reduce co-channel interference. At same time, Node B can use smart antenna to obtain DOA information for location service. This paper expounds in detail how to obtain DOA information using MUSIC algorithm with uniform circular arrays based on theoretical analysis of receiving spatial signal by uniform circular arrays. It also evaluates numerical simulation result of MUSIC algorithm , which shows that considerable improvement in DOA estimation performance is achieved. This paper can provide detailed theoretical basis for smart antenna practical application
