Abstract
Blind adaptive equalization for digital data storage using a digital signal processing method is presented. In this method the input signal is first sampled at a fixed frequency at N -times the channel bit rate, and then the sampled signal is equalized adaptively with the desired signal generated by a polyphase waveform estimator. As the equalizer is working at the fixed and low sampling rate of the input sequence, the hardware realization is simple, and there is a reduction of the amount of data, making the evaluation of the write/read properties of the storage systems simple. The method is also applicable to the fully digital signal processing data detection system
